Onlewo’s silk scarves designed by brand founder Mike Tay, bring together Singaporean storytelling, contemporary design and craftsmanship, with each design inspired by Singapore’s heritage, culture and everyday life.

The scarves have been presented internationally as part of Singapore’s cultural and design showcases. They were exclusively designed for the Singapore Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai and Expo 2025 Osaka, and have also been showcased in South Korea as part of an ASEAN Week cultural showcase, and in Chengdu as part of a Peranakan cultural showcase organised by the Singapore Tourism Board.

The Peranakan Story scarf was created for the Peranakan Museum Singapore, in connection with its Amek Gambar exhibition, translating elements of Peranakan culture into Onlewo’s contemporary visual language.

Each scarf comes with a story card explaining the inspiration behind its design, allowing the recipient to connect with the story and meaning behind the piece.
