Onlewo, A Singapore Design Brand

“Onlewo is a small design studio nestled in Jalan Besar that features a line of Singapore wallpapers and functional fabrics created by founder Mike Tay. His creations celebrate everything that is unique about our country – from neighbourhoods brimming with heritage such as Little India and Tiong Bahru to the elaborate design of Peranakan shophouse windows and tiles. Looking at his beautiful prints and patterns, it’s rather hard to believe he has no formal training in art or design. And in case you were wondering, the word Onlewo is actually derived from the Mandarin “安乐窝” which means a “safe and happy home”.
