This design is inspired by symbols found in many facades of the Peranakan culture. Both Phoenix and Peony symbolise wealth and beauty. They are commonly used for adornment and home decoration in Peranakan culture. Reflecting wealth and good fortune, these symbols are seen throughout the history of Peranakan on fabrics, china wares, furniture, jewellery and decors.
