Kampong Gelam is a rich cultural heritage area with origin in the early 19th century. Today, it is known for enriching history tours, charming shop house architecture, authentic Malay cuisine, colourful textile shops, Persian carpets, handmade perfumes and more. Featured here is the beautiful batik flower pattern that embellished the ‘Kampong Glam’ print. Batiks are one of the many fabrics sold along famous Arab Street in Kampong Gelam.
