The handsome Collared Kingfishers are thriving on our tropical island, and we have the good fortune of hearing their calls while strolling in parks and at the seaside, and being treated to bright flashes of their happy blue-and-white form among Singapore’s lush green scape. The Kingfisher Wetlands at the Gardens By The Bay, a tribute to this lovely feathered species, host microhabitats of the aquatic and sky-bound kinds, nurturing Singapore’s idea of a city within nature.
